Where the Mountain Trail Begins

At the top of Darband Street stands the bronze Mountaineer of Sarband Square — a century-old symbol of Tehran's climbers marking the gateway to Mount Tochal. Koohpaye has welcomed travelers at this very trailhead since 1923.

Koohpaye is one of the oldest, most luxurious mountainside restaurants and tourist attractions in Tehran, dating back to 1923.

Darband, originally a peaceful village in Shemiran, is the gateway to Mount Tochal and a beautiful escape for citizens and travelers. Nested directly in the mountainside valley, Koohpaye offers fresh air, natural waterfalls, and lush trees.

Our multi-tiered terraces overlook the mountain river. We host family gatherings, official banquets, and international travelers with impeccable service and premium cuisine.
